Halloween Happenings At Your Library

Chatham, IL: The Chatham Area Public Library is offering a variety of events for children and families this Halloween season! All of the events are free of charge and will take place either inside of the Library or outside in the Library’s parking lot or side yard. The Library’s offerings include:

  • Very Scary Halloween Movie: On Thursday, October 21st at 6:00 PM, there will be an outdoor showing of a spooky film. This event is intended for those in 3rd Grade and up, and costumes are encouraged. Popcorn and drinks will be provided. Please bring a blanket or lawn chairs to the event. Rain will cancel.
  • Baby and Toddler Time Halloween-themed Storytime: On Tuesday, October 26th at 9:45 and 10:45 AM, Ms. Julie will be sharing Halloween-themed stories and songs for little ones and their caregivers. This event is geared toward children birth-3 years of age, and costumes are encouraged.
  • Halloween Costume Parade: On Thursday, October 28th at 6:00 PM, put on your Halloween costumes and come to the Library to show off your cool costumes and take part in a Halloween Costume Parade!  All ages are invited to participate, popcorn will be available after the parade, and this will take place rain or shine.
  • Halloween-themed Preschool Storytime: On Friday, October 29th at 10:15 AM, Ms. Catherine’s Preschool Storytime will be all about Bewitching Halloween Stories! This program is geared toward preschoolers and their caregivers, costumes are encouraged, and each participant will receive a take and make craft.
