Chatham Area Public Library is Celebrating National Nutrition Month with a Free Gut Health Workshop

March is National Nutrition Month, and in celebration, the Chatham Area Public Library is partnering with SIU School of Medicine’s Dr. C. Leslie Smith, MS, MA, LAc, MD, the Director of Integrative Medicine and the Director of Culinary Medicine, in offering a Gut Health Workshop. The workshop is free and open to the public and will discuss ways in which the health and balance of organisms in your gut impacts aspects of your health ranging from depression to diabetes.

Dr. Smith will be accompanied by colleagues including SIU School of Medicine students who will be on hand to support participants in their learning and to help answer questions. The program will also include a make-and-take, gut healthy quick pickle snack! The Gut Health Workshop will take place on Thursday, March 12 at 6:00 PM at the Chatham Area Public Library. The Library is located at 600 E Spruce St in Chatham, IL, and you can find this program and more on their website at www.chathamlib.org.
